About onestring.net

Onestring is about interconnectedness.  It is about how we relate to our world, our society, and each other.  It is about the way we behave and the effects we have on the people and things around us and, of course, the way those things affect us back.

Things connect through the mechanics of systems.  Whether engineered or biological, the elements of those systems interrelate by relationships of cause and effect and by feedback loops.  Biological systems exist because of countless generations of iteration.  They are dynamic, hyper-complex, and ever-changing, but incredibly stable.  Engineered systems on the other hand tend to be static, simplistic, and comparatively feeble (regardless of what our hubris would lead us to think).  Where these two kinds of systems interface, conflict invariably arises and it is at the seams between the natural and the engineered that the most interesting things tend to happen.
