The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is one of those movies with something for everyone. I mean everyone. And I don’t mean the completely stupid “something for everyone” family movie crap that Disney churns out (like The Country Bears, for example). This is truly the only movie I’m aware of that male and female children, teens, adults, parents, and grandparents can watch and all get something different yet equally enjoyable out of. The cast is perfect, the dialogue is clever and humourous, the plot fun, the action exciting. It was directed by Rob Reiner (This is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally), and stars Billy Crystal, Andre the Giant, Mandy Patinkin, Fred Savage, Peter Falk, and Christopher Guest. I’ve seen it at least five times and it’s still great. The only sucky thing about the whole thing is the title. By the title or cover alone I would never have picked this movie up. I would completely have expected some crappy formula family movie, but I would have been completely wrong. If you’ve seen this movie for rent or purchase and have passed it over thinking you wouldn’t like it, think again. WATCH THIS MOVIE! I guarantee you won’t regret it. That is all.
